Self-Care: Taking Time Out to Renew

We hear a lot of conversation about self-care these days, and at Calming Hands Massage and Wellness, we’re all for scheduling a massage to promote well-being. 

 But the reality is life can be hectic. Taking time out to care for ourselves may be difficult, so our self-care practices must be realistic for our daily lives. Self-care can be simple acts that allow us to reconnect with ourselves and stay balanced.

 Over the years, we’ve asked our clients what self-care means to them. Here are some of their replies:

  • taking a hike

  • being in nature

  • exercising

  • listening to music

  • prayer and gratitude practices

  • cooking on the grill

  • saying “no” to others

  • painting or reading

  • curling up with my pups

  • getting a massage

There’s really no cookie-cutter approach to self-care. It’s about finding a healthy way for you to find joy, peace, and happiness in your life.
